Word on the Street
“Working with Monica has been one of the most impactful decisions in my athletic journey. She is beyond thoughtful in how she approaches coaching, every plan is intentionally tailored to my individual needs, training background, and the physical demands my body is facing at each stage.
Monica doesn’t just write programs, she genuinely cares about longevity and performance. When transitions are needed, she adjusts the plan so fitness is maintained while still allowing me to push for personal bests. Because of her coaching, I’ve seen significant improvements across my run paces, half-marathon, 8K, 10K, and HYROX training.
What truly sets Monica apart is the depth of knowledge she brings not only from her education and experience, but from her own training as an athlete. She consistently shares insight and explains the “why” behind the work, which has given me a wealth of understanding and confidence as an athlete.
She is also incredibly invested, taking the time to learn the exact style of training I do, even joining my workouts so she can fully understand the demands I’m under and taking me on specific runs helping to show me my potential. That level of commitment is rare, I consider myself very lucky to have her in my life.
I truly believe that my podium finishes at every race and HYROX event would not have been possible without Monica’s coaching. Her guidance has elevated both my performance and my belief in what I’m capable of.”

“As a 53-year-old amateur runner in Northern California, balancing a demanding career and a family with teenagers, running has been my anchor for the past 15 years. This year, I had the incredible opportunity to run both the Boston and Chicago marathons. Much of this success is thanks to Monica, who has coached me over the past few years and specifically guided my preparation for these two races.
Working with Monica has been a truly rewarding experience for several reasons. First, she possesses an uncanny ability to gauge my fitness level with remarkable precision. Within just a few weeks of training under her guidance, I noticed that every workout she designed challenged me optimally—pushing my limits without leading to exhaustion or burnout. I’m still not sure how she calibrates intensity so accurately, but her approach kept me completely injury-free throughout the entire year, despite navigating two intense training cycles.
Second, Monica has reinvented running for me. Before working with her, I had already completed about ten marathons and was familiar with standard training theories and workouts. Yet, she consistently introduced fresh, inventive sessions I had never encountered, making each week something I genuinely looked forward to. Under her guidance, running remained engaging and never felt monotonous.
Third, her expertise extends to race-specific preparation. Monica is deeply knowledgeable about various courses and tailors training to the unique demands of each event. Before Boston, for instance, she focused intently on hill running—a former weakness of mine. Thanks to her targeted workouts, I felt strong and confident on the notorious Newton hills. In fact, I’ve since begun seeking out hills in my regular training runs.
Fourth, Monica is exceptionally resourceful on all things running-related. From shoe recommendations to nutrition and recovery tips, her insights have been invaluable. Finally, her positivity is truly infectious. She is engaging, supportive, and a joy to communicate with—making the entire training journey not just productive, but also enjoyable.
I wholeheartedly recommend Monica to any runner seeking to improve, stay motivated, and fall in love with running all over again.”
